Job Title: Impact and Sustainability Coordinator – Cacao
Reports To: Cacao and Abaca Business Head
Location: Mamay, Davao City

Job Summary:The Impact and Sustainability Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring that the cacao program delivers measurable social, environmental, and economic benefits to farmers, communities, and ecosystems. This position focuses on monitoring and evaluating project impact, supporting internal and external audits, and integrating sustainability strategies across cacao production systems. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in auditing alongside sustainability knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:Impact Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Design and implement impact measurement frameworks and tools aligned with program objectives.
- Collect, analyze, and report data on key sustainability and livelihood indicators (e.g., farmer income, biodiversity, soil health, gender participation).
- Develop and maintain dashboards or reports that communicate project progress and impact to stakeholders.
- Conduct field visits to monitor program implementation and validate data.
Sustainability Program Coordination:
- Lead the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices into cacao sourcing and production.
- Coordinate initiatives related to climate-smart agriculture, agroforestry, soil health, and carbon sequestration.
- Promote and monitor compliance with sustainability certifications (e.g., Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade), including document preparation and farmer group readiness.
- Prepare for and support internal and third-party audits related to sustainability and certification standards.
- Conduct internal audits or pre-assessments of farmer groups, cooperatives, and partner organizations.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of sustainability practices, risk assessments, and traceability records.
- Liaise with external partners, including NGOs, government agencies, and certification bodies, to align on sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., supply chain, agronomy, communications) to ensure cohesive sustainability implementation.
- Prepare regular impact reports, audit findings, and case studies for donors, partners, and management.
- Assist in writing grant proposals and project reports with sustainability, compliance, and impact narratives.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Agriculture, Development Studies, Accounting, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 2–3 years experience in sustainability coordination, auditing, or project monitoring—ideally within agriculture or rural development.
- Demonstrated experience conducting or supporting internal or external audits, especially related to sustainability standards.
- Familiarity with cacao value chains, smallholder farmer systems, and certification frameworks (e.g., Rainforest Alliance, Organic, Fairtrade).
- Strong skills in data collection and analysis (Excel, KoboToolbox, or other M&E tools).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
- Willingness to travel to field sites and engage with rural communities.
- High attention to detail and integrity in reporting.
- Proactive and collaborative team player.
- Ability to translate complex data and audit findings into clear, actionable insights.
