As an Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing engineering projects and operations. You will lead a team of engineers and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of engineering initiatives. Your technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management abilities will contribute to the efficient and effective implementation of engineering projects of our company.
Reporting to the Technical Director and President, the Engineering Manager reviews, develops, and implements department procedures, programs, and policies. Shall be overall in charge of land surveys, planning & design, implementation of horizontal & vertical projects, and all other activities undertaken by the Engineering Department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Project Planning and Management:
- Collaborate with the development team to understand project goals, scope, and timelines.
- Develop detailed project plans, including engineering deliverables, resource allocation, and budgeting.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Assign tasks, set goals, and monitor individual and team performance.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing.
- Identify training and development needs of the team and implement appropriate initiatives.
Engineering Design and Review:
- Oversee all key processes in the Engineering Department. Plan, supervise, and coordinate all department activities from surveying, planning and design, and construction of various projects of the company.
- Oversee the engineering design process, including conceptualization, calculations, and technical specifications.
- Review and evaluate all aspects of engineering works: engineering drawings, plans, and specifications for accuracy and compliance, formulates plans, develops strategies, and establishes cost-saving measures.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure integration of engineering requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the project team throughout the design and construction phases.
Quality Assurance and Control:
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure engineering standards and specifications are met.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess construction quality and adherence to project requirements.
- Identify and resolve engineering-related issues and non-conformities in a timely manner.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality control measures and recommend improvements.
Others:
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as project managers, architects, and property managers, to ensure seamless project integration.
- Coordinate with different consultants (if needed) for the conceptualizations/designs & working drawings of model houses, amenities, commercial buildings, bridges, and any other structures with the consideration of budget, concept, and time frame.
- Lead departmental meetings to develop and review processes, performance, and issues. Ensure that specific organizational objectives as well as key measures are clearly understood and thoroughly explained to subordinates.
- Assume overall responsibility in the organization, direction, coordination, and control of the different sections of the department.
- Innovate, find ways to improve, conduct research, and recommend new and advanced technology for the design and implementation of the projects.
- Assist the Business Development Department in the completion of technical data needed in the application for the necessary permits required by the local and national government.
- Exercise administrative control over all employees of the department in all matters pertaining to work performance, attendance, discipline, and enforcement of company rules and regulations.
- Prepare/Submit department monthly accomplishment reports. Oversee the preparation and review of monthly reports for the consideration of targets & quotas and if within the schedule.
- Attend to other functions that may be assigned by superior from time to time.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of BS Civil Engineering or BS Architecture, Licensed
Experience: At least ten (10) years work experience: five (5) years in land development and vertical projects design and construction
- Can cope with the exacting demands of the real estate business
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and Engineering software
- With strong leadership, management, and excellent communication skills
