We're on the lookout for a detail-oriented Pre-Claims / Insurance Checker who thrives in investigative work and can help assess insurance coverage and potential claims under income protection, Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD), and life/death benefits through superannuation funds. This role is perfect for someone with strong analytical instincts, excellent English communication skills, and prior experience in the Australian disability insurance space.

About the Job

Key Duties:

• Investigate potential income protection, TPD, and life/death insurance claims
• Identify relevant Australian superannuation accounts and linked insurance policies
• Review policy documents to verify coverage and claimant eligibility
• Obtain and analyze supporting evidence, including financial and super fund documentation
• Communicate with clients and fund reps using system templates and guided scripts
• Draft preliminary letters under senior staff guidance
• Keep internal systems accurate and updated with matter progress
• Organize and manage digital claim files and timelines
• Identify overlapping claims for internal assessment
• Stay up-to-date on changes in insurance law, fund mergers, and industry practices
• Handle all data and correspondence with strict confidentiality and compliance

Skills and Experience

• Strong analytical and investigative skills
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with claim or case management systems
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote team setting
• High level of confidentiality and professionalism

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in handling or investigating Australian disability, income protection, TPD, or life/death insurance claims
• Solid understanding of Australian superannuation fund structures and insurance practices
• Prior experience in a law firm, insurance, or claimant-focused environment is highly preferred
• Customer service background in a legal, medical, or insurance setting is an advantage
• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred
