Job Description
Seeking a suitably qualified GIS & Database Administrator – Exploration (Fixed term - Makati based) to execute projects and tasks associated to mineral exploration and mining. This role will support Brownfields, Greenfields and Generative Exploration activities at and around OceanaGold's Didipio Mine Site and Other Tenements within the Philippines. The Position will require someone that is self-motivated, dynamic problem solver and capable of delivering on deadlines.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
  • Create a GIS based platform to compile, monitor, evaluate and assess industry activities
  • Develop and maintain a robust data management system to ensure data availability, accessibility, accuracy, and security.
  • Develop and execute workflows to support data collection efforts (mapping and sampling), data import and export, quality control
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams to evaluate mineral exploration opportunities, due diligence, evaluation, and analysis
  • Conduct economic evaluations and risk assessments of exploration opportunities considering factors such as legal boundaries, disputes, demographics
Qualifications
  • Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way
  • Degree in a relevant and related field such as geology, geography, spatial analysis, geodetic engineering, geomatics, cartography
  • Strong skills with Geographic information software systems, specifically ESRI ArcGIS
  • Experience with relevant and related software – Database, GIS, and Mining
  • Experience with Database management software such as Acquire GIM suite, Datamine Fusion, MaxGeo, DataShed
  • Must have at least five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Experience and knowledge of the Mining and Mineral Exploration industry, from Greenfields Exploration to Advanced Stage Resource Definition Programs
  • Awareness of geological mapping and geochemical sampling processes including laboratory procedures, QAQC protocols and data analysis
  • Excellent planning, organizing and prioritization capabilities
